Regional Transition Continues To Make Solid Progress

The Regional Leaders Board met on Tuesday 9 November to receive an interim report from Sir Howard Bernstein, Chair of the Regional Transition Group and from the various Project Board leads covering:

  • Inward Investment
  • Business Support
  • Sectoral Development
  • Research & Intelligence
  • RDA Assets & Liabilities
  • Planning
  • Tourism & Visitor Economy
  • Atlantic Gateway
Whilst there is still much work to be done the Regional Leaders Board expressed its pleasure in both the volume and the level of progress achieved so far, and will receive further feedback at its next scheduled meeting on 10 December.

The Regional Leaders Board also approved the establishment of a Regional Transition Board to assist with the work streams. This Board is comprised of some of the leading public and private sector figures in the region:

  • Robert Hough - Chair NWDA
  • Cllr Sir Richard Leese - Chair North West Regional Leaders Board
  • Vanda Murray - Vice Chair NWDA
  • Cllr Ian Marks - Deputy Chair North West Regional Leaders Board
  • Liz Meek - Regional Director GONW
  • Deborah McLoughlin - Regional Director HCA
  • Sir Howard Bernstein - Chief Executive Manchester City Council
  • Mark Hughes - Acting Chief Executive NWDA

This Regional Transition Board will meet for the first time in Warrington on 15 November.
