Preparing 'The North West of England Plan'

The preparation of the former North West of England Plan began in July 2004. The following timetable sets out the stages undertaken during that preparation process.
Throughout this process work was being undertaken to assess the environmental, social and economic implications of the plan. Full details of this process can be viewed here.

A full Examination in Public was held to ensure that the plan was discussed and tested in public. The issues discussed and those invited to take part in the examination, were influenced by the comments made during the 12 week consultation period. Proposed Changes to the Draft Regional Spatial Strategy Proposed Changes to the draft Regional Spatial Strategy were published for consultation in March 2007. The consultation gave an opportunity for anybody to comment on the changes being proposed to the draft RSS before it is finally adopted. The responses were made to Government Office North West who will publish the final version of the RSS on behalf of the Secretary of State. |
